Internship Program & Student Ambassador Exchange Program

Our youth exchange program builds bridges across cultures and helps youth learn more about themselves and the world. Sister Cities of Franklin & Williamson County host exchanges with Bad Soden, Germany. This program is kept to a minimum cost and a maximum of experience with the students staying in the homes of host families.

Internship Program

Introduction

Thank you for your interest in the Sister Cities of Franklin and Williamson County's Internship Ambassador Programs with Bad Soden am Taunus, Germany. Every year, up to two young adult interns from Williamson County are selected to experience cultural immersion and represent our county as chosen ambassadors.

Preliminary Requirements

  • The internship is open to all Williamson County Youth between the ages of 17 and 21.

  • Proficiency in the German Language is a must.

  • If you would like to apply for exceptions, those will be considered case-by-case, along with an interview with Sister Cities counterparts in Germany. The dates will be mutually chosen after discussion with The Cities of Franklin and Bad Soden, respectively.

  • Must have a one year membership with Sister Cities of Williamson County of Tennessee (Register to become a member)

Notifications

  • Notification Period: Accepted Students will be notified by a member of Sister Cities of Williams County of Tennessee.

Student Ambassador Exchange with Home Stay Program

Introduction

Thank you for your interest in the Sister Cities of Franklin and Williamson County's  Youth Ambassador Exchange Programs with Bad Soden am Taunus, Germany. Every year, up to 15 student ambassadors are selected from Williamson County to experience cultural immersion and represent our county as chosen ambassadors. Open to all students 15-17 in Williamson County.

Your family hosts a student for two weeks in February, and then your student stays with that student's family for two weeks in June. These are memories and experiences for a lifetime!

The cost with application fee and airfare is roughly $2000. Host families supply meals and host activities for the exchange ambassador in each country.

Preliminary Requirements

  • Application Fee and Application Document(s) Due Date: All documents and the $350.00 Student Ambassador Exchange Program application fee are due by October 30, 2024.

  • The application fee covers the one-year membership requirement of Sister Cities of Williamson County of Tennessee.

Application Due Dates and Notifications

  • Application Due Date: All documents are due by October 30, 2024 before midnight.

  • Notification Period: A member of the Sister Cities of Williams County Franklin Tennessee will notify accepted Students after November 15, 2024.

    • If the Student is not selected, $300 will be refunded as $25 is your family's membership that covers the one year membership requirement for Sister Cities of Franklin.


Celebration of Nations

Please join us on January 25, 2025.

On January 13, 2024, we enjoyed a global journey at the "Celebration of Nations," where international acts came together for a family-friendly extravaganza!

There was music from around the world, featuring performances by Giovanni Rodriguez Musical Duo, Chinese Arts Alliance, the Nashville International Folk Dancers, and the incredible Franklin High School Orchestra members. 

This showcase fostered a shared appreciation for the diverse traditions that make our world extraordinary.

Over 100 people of all ages attended an event that transcended borders and celebrated the richness of our global heritage!
