Christkindlmarkt Dec. 6

The Sister Cities of Franklin and Williamson County will host its inaugural Christkindlmarkt during the tree-lighting ceremony on December 6th, from 4:30 PM to 8:30 PM. The organization offers exclusively for purchase at 5 Points Post Office commemorative mugs for $20. By purchasing these mugs, you support the event and contribute to our mission of promoting cultural experiences.

The event will be a feast for the senses, with German music and Christmas carols by the band Polkawagen. But that's not all! You'll also have the chance to indulge in various culinary delights from our food vendors, including a funnel cake food truck and a traditional German kebab food truck. And for those who love decorating their Christmas tree, we have traditional German ornaments available. Plus, a Kinder Corner will provide art activities for children, making it a fun-filled event for the whole family.

In true Chritkindlmarkt tradition, Sister Cities will offer warm traditional German beverages in purchased mugs. Participants who have purchased mugs in advance are kindly reminded to bring them to the event.  Warm beverages will be served inside 5 Points Post Office.

While this initial event is modest in scale, it is part of a global celebration of Christmas that is recognized and cherished worldwide. Our Christkindlmarkt specifically honors our German sister city, Bad Soden am Taunus, and coincides with the Saint Nicholas holiday celebrated across Germany. As we come together to celebrate this festive season, we are also connecting with a larger cultural community, making this event even more special.
